A former Midlothian ISD substitute teacher, Madison Paige Jones, has been arrested on charges including aggravated sexual assault of a child and possession of child pornography, according to FOX 4. Jones, age 30, worked only a handful of times at local schools in the past year, and officials have stated that the alleged offenses are not connected with her employment at the district.
Working four days over the year, she was found in teaching capacities at Heritage High School and Baxter Elementary. The Midlothian ISD communicated in a letter to parents that, "Regardless of her connection to the district, they say the alleged crimes do not appear to have happened at their schools or with their students," as detailed by FOX 4. This letter underscored that the district believes its systems for monitoring and vetting teachers are effective, also highlighting that they had been informed of the allegations by Texas DPS in a swift manner.
WFAA reports that Jones faces a mixture of charges, including one charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child, two counts of indecency with a child sexual contact, and one count of possession of child pornography. Following her arrest last Friday, Jones was booked into the Ellis County Jail with a bond set at $90,000.
In association with Jones’ case, Zackery Dondlinger, a 37-year-old from Happy, Texas, was also arrested, discovered on Tuesday in Loving County, West Texas. He has been charged with sexual performance by a child, as remarked by Midlothian PD. While his specific connection to the case has not been detailed, "A mugshot for Dodlinger has not been released," accordingly to FOX 4. Midlothian police are urging anyone with information related to the investigation to step forward and contact the Midlothian Police Department at (972)775-3333.
