The City of Fort Collins has announced the closure of all City offices during the upcoming Christmas and New Year's Days, ensuring that while administrative functions take a brief pause, the essential services that residents depend on, such as fire, police, and utilities, will operate without interruption. Details released on the City’s official website confirm that the city will observe the holidays on Thursday, December 25, and Thursday, January 1, with the assurance that public safety and utility services will remain fully functional for the community.

As families prepare to celebrate, city-run transportation and parking services are adjusting their schedules; Transfort services will operate on a holiday schedule on both Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, but will not be available outside those hours – the Transfort and parking offices will close their doors on December 25 and January 1, according to the City of Fort Collins.

Recreational amenities will also see changes in their operational hours during this festive period, with facilities including golf courses shutting down on both Christmas and New Year’s Days while on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve places like EPIC, Mulberry Pool, Northside Aztlan Community Center, Foothills Activity Center, and the Fort Collins Senior Center will close earlier at 2 p.m., The Farm at Lee Martinez Park will not be open as well.

Cultural sites are observing the holiday schedule too; The Gardens on Spring Creek will welcome no visitors on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day alike, and the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery plans to close its doors on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day but unlike the other facilities it will stay open on New Year’s Eve making for a cultural exception amidst the widespread closures. All City offices and other facilities, however, are expected to return to their regular schedules on December 26 and January 2, providing residents a prompt resumption of services and support that they may require as the holiday season winds down, according to the City of Fort Collins.
