
A suspect has been detained in connection with a fatal shooting in Fort Collins on Sunday. According to Fort Collins Police Services, the incident took place on the 2000 block of Battlecreek Drive at approximately 7:57 p.m. Officers arriving at the scene found a male victim who had sustained serious injuries from a gunshot; the individual was later transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities quickly identified Brody Jason-Michael Hill, born January 24, 2004, as the suspect, whom they managed to safely apprehend without further incident. Hill is currently facing several charges, including a Class 1 Felony for Murder in the First Degree, and multiple counts related to the unlawful handling of an unserialized firearm and possession of a large capacity magazine. Speaking on the matter, Assistant Chief Frank Barrett, who oversees the Criminal Investigations Division, said, "This is a tragic loss of life, and our thoughts are with the victim's loved ones during this difficult time," Fort Collins Police Services reported.
