
Lewisville residents eyeing some home upgrades should circle December 9 on their calendars as the Lewisville Neighborhood Services offers a free workshop to navigate home repair resources and grants available through the city's programs, to be held at Lewisville Grand Theater, 100 N. Charles Street at 6:30 p.m., interested participants needed to register by the past deadline of November 30. Details available through an RSVP link initially provided by the City of Lewisville.
The workshop aims to demystify the grant application process and is part of the "Diverse and Thriving Neighborhoods" Big Move, a component of the Lewisville 2025 vision plan that the city is pushing forward, attendees will not only get a primer on the application process but also learn about other resources throughout the county, to which the full vision plan can be viewed online at the city's official website.
Popular initiatives such as the Property Enhancement Program are on the docket, which offers a 50 percent matching grant-rebate for exterior home repairs, keeping homeownership within financial reach for many; another option is the Love Your Block program, providing a $500 reimbursable mini-grant for community building endeavors, applications accepted all year round.
Also highlighted is the Neighborhood Enhancement Program, which equips neighborhood groups with matching grants up to $12,500 to bedeck their community with fresh beautification projects, envisioning new entryway features or improved parks designed to foster stronger neighborhood ties and increase aesthetic appeal, essentially turning the city’s blueprint into tangible neighborhood transformations.
