The Town of Fuquay-Varina has announced office closures and service adjustments for the upcoming Christmas holiday. According to a recent social media post, government offices will be closed on December 24, 25, and 26. These closures will also affect garbage collection schedules and operations at local community centers.
The Facebook post notes that there will be no garbage collection on December 25. Residents normally scheduled for December 25 pickup will instead have their garbage collected on December 26. This adjustment is one of several service changes planned for the holiday period.
Public recreational facilities in Fuquay-Varina will also follow adjusted hours during the holiday period. The South Park Community Center will close early at 5:00 p.m. on December 23 and remain closed January 2, 2026, reopening at 8:00 a.m. The Hilltop Needmore Town Park Community Center will also close at 5:00 p.m. on December 23 but will reopen on December 29, at 6:00 a.m. From December 29 through December 31, this facility will operate on modified hours, from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Arts Center will also be closed from December 24 through December 27.
