Garner residents are advised of a temporary phone outage as the town upgrades its phone system to improve communications. According to the Town of Garner, local phone numbers, including those for essential services, will be unavailable starting today, at 5 p.m. Service is expected to resume tomorroww morning at 11 a.m. when the new system becomes operational.
Officials acknowledge the temporary inconvenience as part of the phone system upgrade, which aims to improve long-term communication. The Garner Police Department advised that in the event of an emergency during the outage, residents should call 911.
Residents needing construction or renovation inspections should note that the request line at 919-773-4433 will be unavailable for a short period tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., according to the town's announcement.
