Governor Tina Kotek unveiled her “Prosperity Roadmap” on Wednesday during a visit to Lam Research’s Tualatin facility. The plan outlines a series of administrative actions and proposals for the 2026 legislative session designed to strengthen business retention, boost job creation, and accelerate Oregon’s economic growth, as reported by the Governor's Office.

"Oregon's foundation for economic prosperity is extraordinary. Now we must bring our full potential to bear, working together to create an economy that works for everyone,” Governor Kotek said, according to a statement. The roadmap fans out across six key initiatives, including the appointment of a Chief Prosperity Officer (CPO) and an Oregon Prosperity Council for further execution and development of the economic strategies.

Kotek's legislative blueprint consists of fast-tracking projects and revamping the state's economic development tools. Barriers to business investments and growth are on the chopping block, with targeted tax relief for job creation and increased GDP lined up for review by the CPO and the Prosperity Council for potential legislative actions in 2027.

Moreover, the governor has tasked Business Oregon with overhauling the state's economic development strategy, as well as establishing a Global Trade Desk to bolster international trade and investment opportunities. "To fully realize Oregon's potential, we must focus on regional job creation, innovation, and livability," said Renee James, Chairman and CEO of Ampere Computing, as per the Governor's Office. She seeks a framework that entices people to live, begin businesses, and invest in the state, lending her voice as a co-chair to Governor Kotek's Prosperity Roadmap initiative.
