
Last Saturday, a shooting in the Cedar Crest neighborhood of southern Dallas left one man wounded and has police searching for an unidentified gunman.
Officers were called out around 3:09 p.m. and found a man with a gunshot wound in the 2100 block of Village Way, near South Lancaster Road and East Kiest Boulevard. Dallas Fire-Rescue took him to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. A preliminary investigation indicates he was shot by an unknown suspect, and detectives say the case remains active, according to FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth.
Police have not released any details identifying the victim or describing the suspect.

The shooting unfolded in Cedar Crest, a pocket of East Oak Cliff just south of downtown near Kiest Park. The broader East Oak Cliff area has seen other recent violence, including a deadly shooting reported in May, according to The Dallas Morning News.
