The Michigan Gaming Control Board has approved Hard Rock Bet as the new internet gaming and sports betting operator for the Hannahville Indian Community’s Island Resort and Casino. This change ends 888 VHL’s operations in the state as Hard Rock Bet, operated by Seminole Hard Rock Digital, steps in, according to the Michigan Gaming Control Board.
Hard Rock Bet will launch in Michigan on Tuesday after meeting all the licensing requirements of the Michigan Gaming Control Board. MGCB Executive Director Henry Williams said, "This approval reflects our continued focus on maintaining integrity, transparency, and consumer protection in Michigan’s online gaming and sports betting space."
The Michigan Gaming Control Board requires operators to use only board-approved games, wager types, suppliers, and vendors, and to follow approved internal controls, terms, and change processes. They must also submit all taxes and fees required by Michigan’s internet gaming and sports betting laws. Hard Rock Bet must meet these rules and adopt any control updates the Board issues. As Michigan Gaming Control Board leadership stated, “We look forward to seeing the Hannahville Indian Community and Hard Rock provide a safe, responsible, and enjoyable wagering experience for players across the state — and especially for those served by one of Michigan’s long-standing tribal gaming operators in the Upper Peninsula.”
