In an effort to alleviate food insecurity in their community, Hillsborough County's Health Care Services has announced a collaborative initiative with Feeding Tampa Bay to distribute free groceries at three food pantry events slated for December.
These events, part of a series that occur throughout the year, will offer a variety of items such as fresh produce, meats, and other dietary essentials aimed at supporting individuals and families who might be grappling with food scarcity no discrimination against anyone based on their income situation is made, meaning residents can access these resources freely. In a broader context, Hillsborough County, along with Feeding Tampa Bay, typically organizes 16 such events annually, including extra provisions distributed before significant holidays.
The upcoming food pantry events in December are scheduled as follows: On Thursday from 10 to 11:30 a.m., residents can visit the Lee Davis Community Resource Center at 3402 N. 22nd St., Tampa, FL 33605; the following day, there are two simultaneous distributions on Friday from 4 to 5:30 p.m., at the Plant City Community Resource Center, located at 307 N. Michigan Ave., Plant City, FL 33563 and also at Southshore Community Resource Center, 201 14th Ave. SE, Ruskin, FL 33570.
Details concerning the events have been publicized to ensure residents can take full advantage of this opportunity – those interested in learning more can obtain information by reaching out to the county's Health Care Services at (813) 272-5040, Option 7. According to the official announcement, these events are part of a broader tapestry of efforts to address food access in the area.
