Hillsborough County government staff spent the day on the water with Melvin, the county’s Marine Safety Manager, overseeing coastal resource management. According to a social media post from the Conservation and Environmental Lands Management department, the team addressed derelict vessels and inspected the visibility and condition of navigational signage to support marine safety.
The expedition served as both a routine inspection and an opportunity to inform the Hillsborough community about maintaining a safe and sustainable marine environment. "All aboard! ⚓️ We’re taking to the seas with Melvin," the social media post stated.
The day on the water also highlighted practical holiday gift options for local boaters. Hillsborough County’s Conservation Parks and Boat Ramp passes were promoted as useful stocking stuffers, with residents encouraged to visit the county’s website to purchase a pass for the festive season.
