Holly Springs is concluding the terms of three municipal leaders: Mayor Sean Mayefskie, Mayor Pro Tem Dan Berry, and Council Member Timothy Forrest. The town’s website acknowledged their service.
According to an official announcement, Mayor Sean Mayefskie and Council Member Timothy Forrest began their terms in 2021, while Mayor Pro Tem Dan Berry served two consecutive terms starting in 2017. During their time in office, they oversaw infrastructure projects such as the widening of Holly Springs Road and the expansion of the town’s water and wastewater systems. These efforts contributed to the town’s growth and development, including its emergence as a hub for life sciences and biomanufacturing.
The outgoing officials also oversaw the approval of a $100 million Parks Bond in 2023. According to the town’s website, the bond funds improvements to parks, recreation, and greenway systems, including the construction of Eagles Landing Park, a new recreational area for residents.
During their tenure, the officials also oversaw the opening of Fire Station 3 and the creation of the Sip & Stroll Downtown Social District, reflecting the community’s interest in social events. They launched an annual Citizens Academy, providing residents with an inside look at the town’s government operations.
