The Houston Police Department is searching for a suspect following a fatal stabbing on the city’s east side last night. The incident occurred in the 6500 block of Navigation Boulevard near Engelke Street, where a woman in her 20s sustained a fatal stab wound to the upper right side of her chest. Click2Houston reported that officers arrived around 9 p.m. to find the victim receiving CPR from a friend. She was quickly taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Authorities have identified an earlier confrontation at a nearby gas station as the incident that led to the stabbing. KHOU stated that the victim and her friend had an initial altercation with the suspect before leaving for an open field, where they encountered the suspect again, resulting in a second confrontation that ended with the fatal stabbing.
The suspect, believed to be a homeless woman who frequents the area, remains at large. Investigators are working to determine the relationship between the individuals involved and the motive behind the fatal incident. The Houston Police Department is pursuing leads and has urged anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
The investigation is ongoing, and the victim’s name has not been released pending family notification. Residents and law enforcement continue efforts to gather information and address the incident on Navigation Boulevard.
