Houston police are actively seeking information regarding three male suspects implicated in a fatal shooting that left Markquez Mack, 29, dead and a woman, 30, injured. The incident, which occurred in the early morning hours of November 28 at 11107 South Post Oak Road, was captured on surveillance footage, now released to the public in an appeal for assistance. The video shows the suspects, one donned in a distinctly orange and yellow sweater, navigating through a parking lot. This footage can be viewed on the City of Houston website.
According to the findings reported by HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Brown and M. Cass, Mr. Mack and the woman were leaving a venue when at least two suspects, described as black males wearing dark clothes, confronted them. Following a brief verbal altercation, shots were discharged, mortally wounding Mack and injuring his female companion. The suspects continued firing as they fled the scene, indiscriminately striking the woman.
The Houston Fire Department paramedics responded posthaste, rushing both victims to a nearby hospital where, sadly, Mack's injuries proved fatal. Physicians expect the female victim to make a recovery from her injuries. As the community reels from the violence, local authorities urge anyone with insights on the suspects or information germane to the case to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or to submit a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS, as per the City of Houston website.
The death of Markquez Mack underscores the unpredictable violence impacting Houston’s streets. As the community processes the tragedy, the surveillance video remains a key piece of evidence, showing three suspects who are still on the loose. While investigators continue their work, authorities stress that community tips may be crucial in identifying those responsible and bringing them into custody.
