The Delaware Police Department provided an update in the case of Trenton Rollins, who has been missing since March of this year. Rollins was last known to be driving a blue BMW 430i, sporting Ohio license plate KOR-6295, when he left his Delaware home early Sunday, March 16. The latest development in this ongoing search came on Monday, December 8, when an independent search and rescue group called Chaos Diving found a submerged vehicle in the Hoover Reservoir. This discovery was shared in a social media post by the Delaware, Ohio Police Department.
Upon discovery, there was assistance provided the next day by the Columbus Division of Police Dive Team, which helped to recover the vehicle from the water body. It was during this operation that human remains were found inside it. Preliminary assessments suggest that the remains could possibly be that of Mr. Rollins, although formal identification and cause of death are pending following an autopsy and additional forensic testing at the Montgomery County Coroner's Office. The vehicle's recovery and the subsequent findings have drawn significant attention to both the investigation and the collaborative effort of various agencies.
This somber turn of events brings new focus to the case that has been pending for several months. Initially, when Rollins was reported missing, information indicated that he might have left of his own accord, and there was no suspicion of foul play. However, the findings brought forth by Chaos Diving and the Columbus Division of Police Dive Team offer a new angle into the circumstances surrounding his disappearance and may provide some much-needed closure to those involved.
As the investigation presses forward, the Delaware, Ohio Police Department has expressed its gratitude towards Chaos Diving, a rescue organization that operates independently, and all partner agencies who contributed in this critical phase. The involvement of community members and organizations in search and rescue efforts like this one underscores a collective drive to uncover truths and provide answers in the most troubling of circumstances.
