Human remains were discovered in northern Richmond County on Friday last week, prompting an investigation by local law enforcement. According to WBTV, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office located the remains in the Ellerbe area during a welfare check.
WPDE reported that the investigation is in its early stages. Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased or details about the condition of the remains.
The location of the welfare check has not been disclosed for investigative reasons, as per WCNC report.
