The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office took to social media to broadcast their latest missive on local lawlessness, and this time the suspect's attire was more 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' than 'Feliz Navidad.' Last month, a man was caught on surveillance casually ransacking the trading card section of a Regency-area retail store, all while donning plaid Grinch pajamas, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office's Facebook post.
"This holiday humbug was seen wandering the aisles of a retail store in Regency on Monument Road in plaid Grinch pajamas last month, looking like he had just stepped out of Whoville. He helped himself to several boxes of trading cards," the Sheriff's Office explained. When the store's security tried to intervene, notions of goodwill were clearly, last on the suspect's list — he simply continued on his way out with the unpaid loot.
“If you recognize this card-snatching Grinch, call us at 904.630.0500,” the Facebook post stated. The Sheriff’s Office noted that tips can also be submitted anonymously through First Coast Crime Stoppers at 1.866.845.TIPS, and may be eligible for a cash reward. Officials added that residents can assist by reviewing cases listed on the Sheriff’s Office Unsolved Crimes webpage.
