A 17-year-old in Jacksonville was arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of his father. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office shared on a social media post that the suspect, Syr Williams, is in custody. The incident occurred on Wheeler Avenue near Blanding Boulevard.
Officers responded to a call just before 7 p.m. yesterday and found Jervas Williams with multiple stab wounds. The victim, identified as the suspect’s father, was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives interviewed witnesses and collected evidence at the residence. Syr Williams was arrested today and taken into custody.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office extended condolences to the Williams family and affirmed their commitment to investigating the case. In a social media post, the department stated, “Our hearts go out to the Williams family, and we’ll work to bring justice to them.”
