Judge Lina Hidalgo criticized former Houston Mayor Annise Parker's run for Harris County judge on social media. In a Facebook post, she called Parker "Kim Ogg 2.0" and urged voters not to support her, according to Click2Houston.
Hidalgo, who will not seek reelection, criticized Parker for endorsing DA Kim Ogg and for connections with Republican figures like Donald Trump and Greg Abbott, as reported by Houston Chronicle. She suggested Parker does not fully align with the Democratic Party.
Former Houston Mayor Annise Parker defended her record while running for Harris County Judge, noting her tenure as Houston’s first openly gay mayor and her work in public service. She said, "My record of public service – stable, responsible, drama-free leadership – speaks for itself," and said she plans to focus on policies from Trump and Abbott rather than internal party issues, as per Click2Houston. Parker also explained that her previous endorsement of Kim Ogg was part of her work with the Victory Fund to support LGBTQ+ candidates. City Council member Letitia Plummer has also entered the race, making it a contest between multiple Democrats.
