Katy is getting a new spot for late-night tacos and strong margaritas, as Fuzzy’s Taco Shop rolls out its full-service concept, Fuzzy’s Tacos and Margs, on December 22. The restaurant at 233 S. Mason Rd plans to kick things off with a grand-opening giveaway: the first 50 guests in line at 10 a.m. will score Free Tacos for a Year. This updated format brings tableside "Tacotender" service, an expanded margarita bar and later hours to the Mason Road corridor.
According to a press release from Business Wire, the Katy restaurant is the brand’s third "next-generation" Tacos and Margs model in the Houston area and will be open all day on Dec. 22. "The Katy community deserves a place to unwind, connect, and enjoy incredible tacos," Patrick Kirk, Fuzzy’s president and CMO, said in the announcement. The release also lays out the restaurant’s operating hours, contact number and a slate of opening-week giveaways.
Local franchisees behind the Katy shop
The new Katy location is owned and operated by NGE Group, led by brothers Miro and Andrew Nazarian, who also run the Sugar Land and Kingwood Tacos and Margs outposts, Nasdaq reports. With the Mason Road opening, the group hits its third Fuzzy’s Tacos and Margs site in the Houston area this year.
Menu and margarita lineup
The Katy menu leans hard into tacos, including the Texas Brisket Taco, Cali-Style Steak Taco and the Sonora Relleno, plus sharable items like Ultimate Nachos, all detailed in the brand’s opening notice. On the drinks side, the bar will be pouring the Frozen House Margarita, Watermelon ‘Rita, Fuzz Driver and Paloma ‘Rita. The restaurant will offer full-service dining with Tacotenders, along with a dog-friendly patio and a drive-thru, according to the company.
Jobs and neighborhood fit
Local hiring listings show the Mason Road shop has been staffing up for weeks, seeking cooks, servers and managers, including open-interview postings for the Katy location on Craigslist. The brand’s location page also lays out ordering options, amenities and the site’s phone number, Fuzzy’s Taco Shop notes. Hoodline has also reported on a nearby conversion of a former big-box restaurant into a Fuzzy’s Tacos and Margs as part of the same local expansion push, offering added context for the franchisee’s growth plans in the Houston area.
