
Island residents can declutter sustainably at the Goodwill Industries of Hawai‘i reuse collection event on December 19 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kaua‘i Resource Center, 3460 Ahukini Road in Līhu‘e. Acceptable items include clothing, kitchen wares, books, small furniture, children's toys, and shoes, even if worn or damaged, according to the County of Kauai.
Participants should avoid bringing eWaste, chemicals, medical equipment, appliances, food, baby items (other than clothing), or broken goods. Goodwill recommends checking with local thrift stores before using the Kaua‘i Resource Center drop-off to ensure items are accepted, as reported by the County of Kauai.
Goodwill’s collection event at the Kaua‘i Resource Center requires participants to stay in their vehicles while unloading for safety. Local businesses or thrift stores can schedule donation pick-ups at 808-241-4838. Residents needing home pick-up can contact RP’s Random Closet at 808-346-0020.
