The clock is ticking for last-minute holiday shoppers, but residents of Keller and Westlake have a unique ally in the battle against porch pirates and nosy family members. Keller Public Safety has extended its Gift Guardians program today, offering a haven for package deliveries.
In a refreshed bid to combat the spike in package thefts during the festive season, Keller residents can have their parcels delivered directly to the Keller Police Station, located at 330 Rufe Snow Dr., Keller, TX 76248, as discussed on Keller Public Safety’s recent social media post. Participants of the program are reminded to use their legal names for shipping to ensure the smooth collection of parcels.
To make use of this complimentary service, Keller and Westlake residents need to bring a piece of identification for pickup. Packages are being handed out by volunteers from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday and today, and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. yesterday. This community-focused initiative aims to provide a sense of security and peace of mind to local shoppers during a time often marred by concerns over lost or stolen goods.
There are, however, certain limitations to keep in mind. The free service requests that parcels do not exceed 50 pounds and specifies that they will only be released to a person whose name matches the package label, ensuring that gifts end up only in the hands of their rightful owners. This detail accentuates the community's trust in a season where the spirit of giving is sometimes overshadowed by the actions of a few determined thieves.
