Kent Police Spread Holiday Joy with "Shop with a Cop" Event, Embracing Community Generosity and Spirit

In Kent, the holiday season is marked by the annual Shop with a Cop event, where police officers shop with local children to help make their Christmas brighter. Organized by the Kent Police Department, the program spreads goodwill and brings holiday cheer to children who may otherwise have little to celebrate. According to a social media post by the department, this day stands out as their favorite of the year.

This year's event was made possible through the contributions of residents, "to everyone who donated funds," as the department noted with gratitude. The morning was warmed by more than just a hot breakfast courtesy of Rotary, but by a decade of collaboration with Kent Youth and Family Services (KYFS). 

Santa Claus, along with Buddy and his sister elf, attended the event and added to the holiday spirit. The KPD thanked them for helping make the morning special and bringing joy to children each year.
