King County Metro Transit has highlighted the achievements of two individuals who have risen through the ranks, completing the arduous journey of their respective apprenticeship programs. Shelby McCaddon and Cindy Reyes Ramos, the celebrated apprentices, have successfully transitioned into Career Service roles after comprehensive training that spanned over three years, as stated in a recent social media post.
King County Metro celebrated the culmination of this process earlier this month, honoring both Shelby, who has become a Building Operating Engineer, and Cindy, who is now a Painter within Metro's Transit Facilities Division; they were praised for their dedication and skill development under the guidance of seasoned mentors, despite the apprenticeships demanding a combination of on-the-job experience and formal education that is no small order to fulfill given the requirement by Labor and Industries for stringent regulations and accreditation.
The journey they've embarked upon is no small feat, and as King County Metro Transit exclaimed in their announcement, "Congratulations to Shelby and Cindy for accomplishing this major career milestone!"
