Kingsport’s municipal offices will be closed on December 24, 25, and January 1, 2026, but the sanitation department has adjusted its schedule to prevent service disruptions. "December 25 routes will be collected on December 26," and December 26 collections will occur on December 27 to keep garbage and trash pickups on track, according to the City of Kingsport.
The city’s demolition landfill will also be closed on December 24, 25, and January 1, 2026, while the convenience center at 300 Industry Drive will operate on December 24 and New Year’s Day from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm. These measures aim to balance holiday observances with essential sanitation services for residents, as reported by the City of Kingsport.
Kingsport sanitation crews will collect extra items, including "boxes and bags of wrapping paper/ribbon/bows," from December 29 through January 2. Items should be placed three to four feet away from the regular garbage cart on the scheduled collection day.
