According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday will bring mostly sunny skies with highs reaching a more pleasant 45 degrees, although gusts could peak up to 20 mph. The gradual warming trend continues with Wednesday night offering partly cloudy conditions and a low of 29 degrees.
As the year draws to a close, the New Year's Day forecast seems more forgiving weather-wise, with mostly sunny skies expected and highs to potentially crest near 49 degrees. Knoxville follows to step into 2025 with moderate evening temperatures of 33 degrees and partly cloudy skies. However, a chance of showers after 1 pm Friday might just dampen the spirit of revellers.
Over the weekend, weather uncertainties hang in the balance as showers loom over the region with mixed chances. A 60% probability of showers marks Friday night, followed by a decrease to 40 percent on Saturday, mainly before the afternoon hours. Temperatures remain steady with Saturday’s high near 55 degrees and a low of 37 overnight.

A separate release from the National Weather Service Morristown TN warns of "Cold wind chills this morning with near zero values across the mountains" while the valley areas should expect wind chills "in the teens to single digits over southwest Virginia." No further hazardous weather is projected for the week following.
