Lakewood police are currently investigating a homicide that transpired following a burglary on Saturday evening. According to 9News, authorities were summoned to the 300 block of South Kendall Street after the discovery of a deceased woman in her residence. The investigation is in preliminary stages, but a possible link between her death and a recent burglary is being scrutinized.
The details surrounding the case remain scant. However, the Lakewood Police Department is urging residents to thoroughly review any footage from their security systems that might be relevant. They are hoping those in the vicinity who own security cameras might have captured something that could lead to further progress in the case. KDVR reports that the department has extended its plea to the public, asking anyone with information to get in touch, either via the police tipline or through Metro Denver Crime Stoppers.
In the interim, the identity of the woman and how she died have not been made public. It is also not clear why the incident is believed to have begun as a burglary. The Denver Post noted that these additional specifics have not yet been available as of Sunday evening.
