Las Vegas police Officers Aaron Javier and Skeeter Black were awarded the Medal of Honor for their courageous actions during a critical rescue on an overpass. Officer Black first caught a person losing balance on the ledge, holding them for nearly a minute until Officer Javier arrived to assist, as stated by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported that Javier secured the individual's other wrist, ensuring their safety. "Working together, the officers created a lifesaving hold," successfully pulling the person back from the edge.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department on their Facebook page, "Through sheer strength and determination, Black supported the individual's full weight for nearly a minute," before Javier helped secure the person. The officers prevented a possible death and provided aid once the individual was safe.
