A man was shot and killed in Las Vegas on Sunday afternoon. The incident happened on the 1000 block of Sierra Vista Drive, near Maryland Parkway and East Desert Inn Road. Police received multiple 911 calls around 12:20 p.m. and found the man inside a car with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to News 3 LV.
Homicide Lieutenant Robert Price detailed during a news conference that a verbal altercation between individuals in the middle of the street escalated when someone brandished a gun and shot the victim multiple times. The man, who was seated within his vehicle, succumbed to his injuries. "There appeared to be a verbal argument between a group in the middle of the street, and during the fight, someone took out a gun and shot several times at the victim," Lt. Price said, as reported by 8 News Now.
The suspects, described by Lt. Price as "a group of three or four people," left the scene in an unknown direction before police arrived, as per News 3 LV. The LVMPD Homicide Section is investigating.
