As the holiday season peaks, Las Vegas shoppers are visiting NellisAuction.com’s warehouse to pick up online auction items. Quinton Stephenson, a longtime customer, said, "You can find just about anything on the website, and you can usually save, you know, 30, 50, up to 70 percent pretty easily," as reported by Fox5Vegas. With around 50,000 items available, shoppers collect their purchases through a curbside pickup system explained by Kyle Johnson, the company’s chief communications officer.
Some people are enjoying bargain deals, while others are noticing higher prices at grocery stores. According to 8 News Now, a poll shows that most adults in the U.S. have seen increases in costs for groceries, electricity, and gifts this year. Isela Garcia, shopping last-minute in west Las Vegas, said her Christmas Eve roast “This is over $200.” Las Vegan Leandrea Cowens, living on a fixed income, said “[It seems] like everything is double."
On Tuesday, a warehouse on Dean Martin in Las Vegas saw over 3,000 customers on a rainy day. The store’s return policy allows shoppers to return items freely: "I can return things for just about any reason at all. So there’s no, you don’t have to pay to return something. There’s, there’s no fee for it. Um, so there’s like no risk," as per Fox5Vegas. Traci Martin noted the busy crowds: "But there sure is a lot of people in here spending money. But 'tis the season," as mentioned by 8 News Now. Some grocery stores may close early on Christmas Eve, contributing to the high turnout.
