Las Vegas will continue to see warm, dry, above-normal temperatures this week, with only slight dips as shortwave troughs pass through. "A series of shortwave troughs embedded within the upper-level flow will move through the region beginning tomorrow, bringing periods of increased cloud cover to the region," according to the National Weather Service.

Northern winds will continue to funnel down the Colorado River Valley with gusts near 20–30 mph, while the rest of the area stays mostly calm. Aviation forecasts call for light winds under 5 kt, VFR conditions, and few to scattered clouds around 25 kft, as reported by the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service says several climate records in the region may be matched or broken, including in Las Vegas, where the forecast high of 72 degrees is close to a 1939 record. “Numerous climate locations across the region have a forecast high temperature and/or forecast warm low temperature within 3 degrees of the daily record today and Friday,” the National Weather Service said. The National Weather Service is also asking the public to report any notable weather conditions to help improve their data.
