Sergio Reyes Rojas, a 44-year-old youth soccer coach in Las Vegas, was arrested for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl after giving her a ride home. Authorities say he gave the victim an alcoholic drink, and evidence including DNA tests and surveillance footage links him to the crime, according to News3 LV.
Rojas, who directed and coached at Las Vegas Diversity FC, may have other potential victims due to his extensive involvement in local youth sports. He remains in custody with bail set at $500,000 and has declined to speak to police without an attorney, as reported by 8 News Now.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is asking anyone who may have been affected by Rojas, who is linked to "multiple youth sports programs" in the Las Vegas Valley, to come forward, as per Hoodline. Detectives are seeking tips from coaches, parents, and league officials. Survivors can get confidential help from Signs of HOPE and the LVMPD victim services unit. The police say the current charges are allegations, and any legal actions will be handled by the Clark County District Attorney’s Office. People with information can contact the LVMPD Sexual Assault Detail or Crime Stoppers.
