Officers responded to a call shortly before 11:30 p.m. and arrived to find the man unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds, according to ABC7 Chicago. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office later identified him as Carl McDonald, the outlet reports.
Police have not publicly released information on what may have led to the shooting, and officials have not announced any charges.

At the scene, CBS Chicago crews reported that officers placed at least 31 evidence markers on the ground. No arrests have been made, and Area Four detectives are leading the investigation, according to the station. Authorities have not shared a suspect description or a possible motive.
