Lehi City has rolled out its annual Holiday Waste Guide in a social media post, alerting residents on how to sort their waste correctly during this festive season, which is notorious for generating an excess of refuse. As shared on their Facebook page, the city provided clear instructions dividing waste into three categories: items to trash, to recycle, and those requiring drop-off at a designated location.
According to Lehi City, glittery or embellished gift wrap, along with bows, ribbons, tissue paper, foam packaging, holiday lights, and certain decorations, should all be placed in traditional trash receptacles, as they cannot be processed through curbside recycling. On the flip side, plain wrapping paper, cardboard boxes, clean aluminum pans, and your usual metal cans and plastic bottles should find their way into the recycling bin.
Moreover, Christmas trees can be discarded from December 26th to January 15th at the city's Rodeo Grounds North Parking Lot, situated at 105 N 500 W, given they are stripped of lights, ornaments, and stands, as well as free of any disposal bags. This drop-off service is part of Lehi City's effort to manage post-holiday clean-up sustainably.
