Residents and commuters in Līhu‘e’s Puhi subdivision should prepare for road and lane closures starting December 22 and continuing through January 30, 2026. The Department of Public Works and Maui Kupono Builders announced that the weekday disruptions will occur from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, according to Kauai County.
Travelers on Hanalima Street, Uhu Place, Kole Place, Ono Street, Kaku Street, Oama Place, Mano Street, Oio Street, and Ehu Place should expect single-lane closures and full road closures on smaller cul-de-sacs for public works and improvement projects. Access to all properties will be maintained, and drivers are advised to follow traffic controls, posted signs, and flaggers directing vehicle flow.
Detours will be clearly marked during the road work, which aims to maintain the safety and longevity of the community’s streets. Drivers are advised to plan for extra travel time to account for delays from lane closures and detours.
For more information about the closures, contact Grace Pacific at 808-688-3305 or Todd Ozaki at 808-241-4845. Both representatives can answer questions and provide details about the project.
