A quick response by the Lincolnton Fire Department helped prevent a potentially serious incident yesterday. The department shared on a social media post that firefighters, already on a nearby call, noticed signs of a possible structure fire on the 100 block of Crestview Drive around 9:25 a.m.
Reports indicate that Battalion 1 and Ladder 1 arrived at the scene within three minutes, encountering heavy smoke coming from a residence. Ladder 1 confirmed an active fire shortly after arrival and began fire suppression efforts, supported by Engine 4, Engine 2, Squad 4, and Howard's Creek Fire Department’s Engine 50. The fire was brought under control by 9:49 a.m.
Fire crews contained the fire with minimal damage and no injuries reported. Authorities identified damaged electrical wiring in the building as the cause of the fire. The department also reported that a dog was rescued from the premises and confirmed that no people were harmed.
