Laquinn Smith, 24, of Macomb County has been arrested after a violent incident at her Clinton Township apartment last Thursday, which involved stabbing her ex-boyfriend and fleeing in his black Chevrolet Trax. The car was later involved in a multi-vehicle collision, reportedly ending up on top of one of the vehicles, according to ClickOnDetroit.
Smith faces charges of assault with intent to murder and aggravated domestic violence. Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido said, "Violence will not cure your problems — it only multiplies them," following the incident, as detailed by Detroit Free Press.
Clinton Township Police investigated a multi-vehicle accident near Hall Road and Romeo Plank Road in Sterling Heights involving seven vehicles. The crash happened shortly after a domestic violence incident that led to multiple 911 calls. Smith, the suspect, is held on a $250,000 bond with GPS monitoring if released, as mentioned by Detroit Free Press. The stabbing victim is hospitalized in stable condition, as per Audacy. Authorities have not released details on the motive. Emergency services assisted at the scene.
