A man was arrested after blocking a Spring ISD school bus near 24505 Birnam Wood Blvd on Monday and showing what appeared to be a gun to the driver and students. He ran before police arrived but was caught hours later by Spring ISD police, as reported by Click2Houston. Authorities increased patrols near schools and bus routes. The school district has not released its bus driver safety protocols.
A 20-year-old man was identified as the suspect in a Spring ISD bus incident, prompting a manhunt that ended with his capture. A student recalled the moment, saying, "I looked up, and the first thing I saw was the gun," as per ABC13.
Jack Mann, a regional business operations director, confirmed that bus drivers receive 20 hours of training, including strategies on "How to use the bigger parts of their bodies, their legs, etc., should they have to keep somebody off the bus." The district reported that all students and the driver were safe, offered counseling support, and urged anyone with information to contact law enforcement.
