Authorities in Orange County have detained a man linked to a fatal stabbing incident that occurred within a home last month. The Orange County Sheriff's Office identified the suspect as 33-year-old Tremon Jones, now facing a first-degree murder charge in connection with the death of Degwendlyn Vakaye Floyd, as reported by WFTV.
The grim discovery was made on Nov. 28 when deputies arrived at the residence located on the 2800 block of Rockingham Circle. They found Floyd, who was in her 40s, suffering from stab wounds. The victim was quickly transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Per the details obtained by WESH, surveillance video captured an argument that preceded the fatal encounter, with Floyd appearing to be arguing on the phone before approaching the door where the attack ensued.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is actively continuing its investigation into the stabbing, looking into the motive and potential witnesses. As of now, authorities have not publicly disclosed information regarding the context of the altercation or the specific circumstances that led up to this tragic event.
Details about the relationship, if any, between Jones and Floyd have yet to be released by the investigating authorities.
