
A tragic event unfolded early Sunday morning when an adult male was found unresponsive in the intersection of Mountain Avenue and Old Mountain Avenue in San Jacinto. The Riverside County Sheriff's Department reported that deputies from the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station responded to the scene at approximately 1:24 a.m. Despite their efforts to perform lifesaving measures, the victim was pronounced dead at the location.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff's official report, a vehicle with significant damage was discovered roughly 200 feet from the intersection, northbound and unoccupied. The San Jacinto Traffic Team took over the investigation, and preliminary findings indicate the vehicle was traveling north at high speeds when the driver lost control and was ejected. The investigation into the collision is ongoing, and no other vehicles were said to be involved in the incident.
The aftermath of the accident led to the temporary closure of Mountain Avenue between 7th Street and Esplanade Avenue, disrupting morning traffic as authorities worked the site. Residents and commuters were advised to seek alternate routes during the investigation process.
