Belt, accused of driving under the influence, was allegedly involved in the incident on May 4, which claimed the life of 18-year-old Braun Levi, a senior at Loyola High School and an accomplished tennis star.
The collision occurred in the early hours around 12:46 a.m., on Sepulveda Boulevard, and Levi succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a hospital, Belt was taken into custody by investigators from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and later charged with one felony count of second-degree murder, and one felony count of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, along with another misdemeanor, according to a press release by the Manhattan Beach Police Department. Her bail is set at $2 million.
