A Manhattan man has been sentenced to federal prison after pleading guilty to drug-related charges. Sean Christianson, 45, received a 151-month prison term for possession with intent to distribute a significant quantity of cocaine, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney's office. His guilty plea followed his arrest, during which authorities found twenty-two one-kilogram bricks of cocaine in his vehicle, intended for distribution in the Syracuse area.

The investigation that led to Christianson's arrest and sentencing involved the Drug Enforcement Administration, the New York Drug Enforcement Task Force, the Syracuse Police Department, and the City of New York Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor. Acting United States Attorney John A. Sarcone III reported that a large quantity of narcotics was removed from circulation and stated that efforts to address illegal drug activity in the Northern District of New York continue.

The case involved not only the seizure of a large quantity of drugs but also the discovery of firearms in Christianson's New York City apartment, which were reportedly linked to his drug-related activities. After serving his prison sentence, Christianson is scheduled to undergo a five-year term of supervised release, as ordered by United States District Judge Anthony J. Brindisi.

In a press release, DEA Special Agent in Charge Frank Tarentino commented on Sean Christianson’s sentencing, stating, "Today’s sentencing of Sean Christianson sends a clear message to those individuals who are looking to flood our upstate communities with illicit narcotics and violence." The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Ben Gillis.
