The quiet of an early Sunday morning in Seaside was shattered when a vehicle plowed into a residence, resulting in a missing passenger and the driver's arrest. KPTV reported that at around 6 a.m., the Seaside Police Department, together with Seaside Fire & Rescue, responded to a home near South Franklin Street and Avenue P, where the crash had caused significant property damage. Upon their arrival, officers discovered the car occupants had vacated the scene, prompting a manhunt for the missing passenger, later identified as 49-year-old Andrew Paul Sargent of Seaside.
While police apprehended the suspected driver, concerns for Sargent's well-being increased, particularly since he may have been injured during the collision. According to KOIN, despite deploying a police dog and a drone with thermal imaging capabilities, efforts to locate Sargent have proven fruitless. Officials, conducting an extensive search in partnership with local law enforcement agencies, remain engaged in finding Sargent.
The incident has left the homeowner unharmed but displaced. "The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to contact the Seaside Police Department," KOIN stated.
