Mansfield residents, take note: as you make your plans for the festive period, remember that city offices are going to be closed this Thursday and Friday. The City of Mansfield, through a social media post, confirmed that all municipal government offices will shut down on Dec. 25-26 in observance of the Christmas holiday. Essential services like trash and recycling collection will see a little shake-up due to the closures.
According to the City of Mansfield's announcement, the curbside trash and recycling services will not run on Thursday, Dec 25. To accommodate the holiday schedule, collections for the latter part of the week will need to slide by one day. This means that residents who usually have their trash picked up on Thursday can expect to have it done on Friday, Dec. 26, and those with Friday service will have to wait until Saturday, Dec. 27. Collections were to continue as normal on Monday, Dec. 22, and Tuesday, Dec. 23.
In addition to the adjustments in waste services, various community facilities will also be closing their doors over the holiday. The Mansfield Public Library, as informed by the city's social media post, is slated to remain closed through Sunday, Dec. 28. Similarly, the Mansfield Activities Center may close on Wednesday, Dec. 24, and Thursday, Dec. 25, and Senior Lifestyles programs are also taking a pause, not to resume until Dec. 28.
