The Marysville WA Police Department took to social media to highlight one of their own, Detective Jake Wiggins, celebrating his dedication to public safety and sharing a few personal tidbits with the community. Detective Wiggins, who has been with the department for five years, has spent the last two in the detective division. A post on the department's Facebook page gave the public a snapshot of the detective's professional and personal life.
Wiggins' role goes beyond the typical detective duties. He is a member of the Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team (SMART), and a part of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, a group dedicated to tackling some of the most disturbing crimes that can afflict the most vulnerable in society. When he's not knee-deep in investigation, Wiggins reportedly loves to immerse himself in history books, explore diverse cultures through travel, and savor the experiences offered by fine dining. His language skills in Spanish are not just for show, as he's applied them in service of the law.
An interesting fact about the detective surfaced alongside his professional credentials: Wiggins was part of the 2008 Mill Creek Little League team that shot all the way to the Little League World Series.
