
The Troutman Police Department in Iredell County reported multiple vehicle break-ins near the fairgrounds. According to a department social media post, several vehicles were damaged and items were stolen. Officers apprehended a suspect on Charlotte Highway the following day.
Following the initial reports last Friday, officers noted multiple vehicles with broken windows at the fairgrounds. Last Saturday, Sidney Truesdale, 41, of Matthews, was apprehended while driving a vehicle connected to the break-ins. Police reports indicate that Truesdale is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges related to the incidents, as well as existing warrants for prior offenses.
Sidney Truesdale faces an extensive list of charges following his arrest. Authorities charged him with eight counts of felony break or enter a motor vehicle, one count of felony larceny, five counts of misdemeanor larceny, and eight counts of property damage. Additionally, outstanding warrants from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department for breaking and entering motor vehicles remain active. The Troutman Police Department noted that Truesdale had previously been released pre-trial on more than 40 similar charges.
