Among the promoted is Tracy Falon King, who, after serving as interim since March, has stepped up as the Director of Communications, joining the Mayor's executive team and Cabinet.
In a strategic shake-up, Press Secretary Silas Woods III has been bumped up to Deputy Director of Communications, having joined the city government earlier this year. Announced by the City of Baltimore Mayor's Office, this wave of appointments playing critical roles, such as Noell West taking on the role of Assistant Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services, and Dana P. Moore appointed as Senior Advisor for Boards and Commissions, each brings a wealth of experience to their new positions, elevating the city's service portfolio. The team's latest addition is Bria Sterling-Wilson, assuming the post of Deputy Director of the Mayor's Office of Arts, Culture, and Entertainment starting January 5, 2026.
"I'm proud to have so many dedicated public servants on my team, who share a commitment to improving the lives of Baltimore residents," Mayor Scott declared, according to the official press release. The Mayor's statement underscores the collective push towards investment in youth, support of the arts, better communication with residents, and the broader agenda to rejuvenate the city.
King's advancement is supported by over a decade in communications and government affairs, having spent a slice of her career at the Democratic National Committee and The Collective PAC. Maintaining his connection with the public through strategic communications, Woods III has also moved through a series of high-profile roles, including supporting Vice President Kamala Harris' office. With an intent to celebrate and secure the city for its youth, West steps into her role following a significant reduction in youth violence, an accomplishment marking her previous tenure in office. Serving in various capacities, such as Acting City Solicitor, Moore is credited with a multitude of civic contributions and legal advice given to past mayors.
