Early this morning, tragedy struck at the Summerset Apartments in Melbourne as a shooting left one man dead and another injured. According to a WFTV report, around 6 a.m., Melbourne police responded to a call at the apartment complex located south of Lake Washington Road and west of Croton Road.
The officers, initially investigating a suspicious incident, heard gunshots upon their arrival and discovered two men, one succumbing to his injuries at the scene while the other was hastily transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound, as ClickOrlando detailed.
The Melbourne Police Department has indicated that the incident seems isolated and reassured the public that there is no continuous threat to the community. As per authorities, "all individuals involved are accounted for," police said in a statement, reported by ClickOrlando.
