In a plea for public assistance, the Metropolitan Police Department has announced an active search for three French bulldog puppies taken during an armed burglary in Northeast Washington, D.C. The incident, which occurred on the evening of Sunday, has left residents concerned and on high alert for any information that could lead to the safe return of the puppies and the apprehension of the perpetrators.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the burglary took place at approximately 7:00 p.m. in the 1500 block of Benning Road, Northeast, where intruders broke into an apartment. They reportedly came armed, threatening occupants with firearms and forcibly demanding property. Before making their escape, they managed to quickly snatch three puppies, adding an emotional weight to the already heinous act.

Highlighting the seriousness of the case, the department has announced a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the violent crime. Officials hope the reward will encourage witnesses or anyone with relevant information to come forward, assisting both in the recovery of the stolen dogs and in bringing those behind the incident to justice, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
As the investigation continues, residents of the Benning Road area and the wider D.C. community are urged to stay alert and report any suspicious activity that may be related to the incident. Ensuring neighborhood safety and the well-being of the stolen puppies remains a top priority for both law enforcement and residents.
