A Miami-Dade doctor, Gisell Mansur, age 39, was arrested following a chaotic scene on the Palmetto Expressway, where she assaulted her husband and later spat in a Florida Highway Patrol trooper's face. The Florida Department of Transportation captured the incident on a live camera feed that displayed Mansur's disruptive behavior, which included sitting down in the middle of the busy highway, thereby halting oncoming traffic. This information was supplied by the Florida Highway Patrol and recounted by Local 10 News.

The events that led to Mansur's arrest started after an outing with friends at the 94th Aero Squadron restaurant. It is reported that she and a friend were heavily intoxicated when her husband came to collect them. The gathering turned into an argument, which prompted her husband to pull his SUV over on the Palmetto Expressway in an attempt to diffuse the situation. Mansur's response was to abruptly kick her husband in the face from the backseat and then to proceed to climb onto the hood of the vehicle. Subsequently she was to deliberately walk onto the highway, sitting down in the traffic lane. According to Local 10 News, Mansur's husband had visible redness on his face but declined to comment or be photographed concerning his injuries.

When taken into custody and during processing at FHP Troop E headquarters, Mansur became aggressive again. She started kicking the door and window of the patrol car, leading the troopers to try and restrain her. In the course of this action, Mansur spat in the face of one of the troopers, combining saliva and blood, which necessitated her being subdued with a taser, as stated by Local 10 News. Mansur is facing multiple charges which include battery, resisting an officer with violence, and assault on a police officer, among others. Her bond was set at $3,800 for several charges but remains "to be set" for the assault charge against a police officer.

Mount Sinai Medical Center has confirmed that Mansur was formerly employed as a physician with their hospital but is no longer associated with them following the incident. In a statement to Local 10 News, the spokesperson for the medical center expressed their commitment to maintaining a secure environment, adding, “We are aware of the incident involving a physician who is no longer affiliated with Mount Sinai. The incident did not occur on our campus and did not involve Mount Sinai patients or staff. As this is a matter involving an active investigation, we cannot comment further. Mount Sinai is cooperating fully with the appropriate authorities and remains committed to providing a safe and professional environment across all of our facilities.” Further, Mansur's termination was communicated once more by 7News. Outreach attempts for comment from Mansur and her husband have received no response as of yet.
